Ross Flora Song Premiere on Americana Highways: “Home Bound”

Ross Flora – “Home Bound”

Americana Highways is hosting this premiere of Ross Flora’s song “Home Bound,” an ode to his canine buddy Sadie Mae, and a harbinger for Ross’ forthcoming album due out later this year.  Settled in Nashville by way of Virginia, Ross is currently writing with Buck Johnson (Aerosmith, Hollywood Vampires) for a full 5-song EP set for release later this year.

Musicians on “Home Bound” are Ross Flora on vocals and all instruments other than drums; and Jeremy Pearly on drums.  Is there anything sweeter than a good dog (or, sometimes, a good cat)?  This song is about the pure joy of coming home after a challenging time away: “Listen close, there’s no sweeter sound / She’s sitting in the front yard Pulling at my heart / She’s got the sun in her hair / It’s like I’m already there / No clouds only blue sky / In my peace of mind / No chance of slowing me down I’m home bound.”  Electric guitar runs grounded in a Southern Rock sound paint a landscape of pensive mistiness giving way to simple joy.

Ross is partnering with Skydog Sanctuary for Horses, Philzoia Animal Rescue, Animal Wellness Foundation, and Pasadena Humane Society to raise awareness for animals in need of a loving home in light of this song.

I hope this song leaves people feeling hopeful,” says Ross. “No matter how tough things get, there’s always light at the end of the road. There’s always someone waiting for you, whether it’s a friend, a family member, or a four-legged companion who sees you as their whole world. – Ross Flora
