JAYNE DENHAM ELEVATES HER CHART-TOPPING ALBUM WITH STRIPPED DOWN GRIT AND SOUL OF THE PROHIBITION ERA

“Moonshine is a breathtaking journey of an album, steeped in some incredibly rich storytelling that truly elevates Denham as a singer and songwriter.”
— CountryTown
Whereas Wanted had a spaghetti western theme, Denham chose the Prohibition era as the creative inspiration for Moonshine. Working with her Nashville-based producer Brian White, she carefully selected songs that would not only work individually but contribute to the whole vision of the album. These included a cover of George Strait’s ‘Poison’, as Denham explained when we spoke recently. — Sunburnt Country Music
The album opens with a short refrain of guitar and violin over a barroom hubbub, with some evocative vocals, and this rips right into the title track, released in 2023 and featuring Colt Ford with his distinctive vocals. Moonshine is a foot-stomping number, with some tricky banjo picking over a pounding drum-beat which is guaranteed to get the audience jumping, and will no doubt have a harder edge live. — Life Music Media
For the first time in her career, No. 1 country-rock artist Jayne Denham includes acoustic versions as she invites listeners to step back in time with the stripped-down Moonshine Deluxe Edition, capturing the era of risk-taking fiery love affairs, and the thrill of running Moonshine. Released Friday, September 27, this deluxe edition includes two new acoustic tracks—“Moonshine” (Acoustic Version), “Lovin’ A Wild Thing” (Acoustic Version)—plus the latest single “Night Burn” featuring Jason Sever and a high-energy “Moonshine” club remix.
With Moonshine Deluxe Edition, Jayne embarks on a sonic journey that echoes the fierce, untamed spirit and adrenaline-charged energy of the Prohibition era, paying homage to the risk-taking moonshine runners and the rebellious heart of the time.
The Moonshine Deluxe Edition spotlights the anthemic single “Night Burn,” co-written with acclaimed producer Brian White—who boasts sixteen #1 songs, including Jason Aldean’s “Blame It On You”—and Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Brian Bunn, whose credits include Lee Brice, Jackson Dean, Chase Matthew, and Parmalee.
Jayne says, "We originally wrote 'Night Burn' for the Moonshine album, but with ten songs already set for release, we held onto it. After filming some acoustic versions for social media, fans kept asking for more. So, we recorded 'Night Burn' and decided to include acoustic versions of two of the biggest hits—‘Moonshine’ and ‘Lovin’ a Wild Thing.’”
“The Moonshine album draws heavily from the music and instruments of the prohibition era, and this version really takes you there,” said Jayne, as she expressed her delight with Brian Bunn’s work on the ‘Moonshine’ acoustic mix. “It’s like sitting around a campfire in the backwoods of Virginia with moonshiners, playing music, and drinking corn liquor. It’s raw, real, and captures the spirit of the era perfectly, she adds.”
The deluxe edition wraps with a fan-favorite mix reimagining of the title track, the “Moonshine Club Mix,” supercharging Jayne’s unmistakable sound for the dance floor. “We thought, why not give everyone everything in one place?” said Jayne. And that they did, delivering the “Moonshine Club Mix,” made for the bright flashing lights of the club, all while preserving the distinctive flair Jayne is known for.
In 2023, Jayne released five singles from the Moonshine album. The title track, featuring Colt Ford, came first, followed by "Face of the Sun", and "Stunt Double," which hit No. 1 on the Country Radio charts and landed on New Music Friday (USA). "Are You Ready For This" (with Hurricane Fall) broke into the Top 10 Tamworth Hottest Australian Country Hits; "Chain Smokin'," written by Brandy Clark, Trevor Rosen, and Matt Jenkins, was released in September.
