Award-Winning Jazz Musician Marc Jordan Seeks Inspiration in Nashville

Breaking down borders with his most recent album release Both Sides

Nashville, TN (December 6, 2019) – After the successful release of his solo album Both Sides, award-winning Canadian jazz artist Marc Jordan and his wife Amy Sky aim to spend more time in Nashville, TN to work on their next project. Jordan’s music career initially took off back in 1978 when he was signed to Warner Music, where Jordan spent 16 years writing hit songs for and with the likes of Diana Ross, Chicago, Kenny Loggins, Natalie Cole, Olivia Newton John, Joe Cocker, Bonnie Raitt, Josh Groban, Cher and Rod Stewart, including his worldwide #1 hit “Rhythm of My Heart.” Jordan has won numerous ASCAP, JUNO, SOCAN and Smooth Jazz awards over the years and has recorded 16 albums of his own material. Aside from his musical prowess, Marc Jordan is also a remarkable visual artist. He has even used his artistic skills to overcome his challenges with dyslexia by incorporating painting into his songwriting process.

With his most recent album release of Both Sides, Jordan finally explores his love of the great American songbook and beyond by recording some of his favorite hits from the mid 20th century. Both Sides was carefully crafted and recorded with the Prague Symphony Orchestra and features Grammy-nominated trumpet player Randy Becker. Jordan put his own modern spin on classics like “The Nearness of You” and “What Are You Doing For the Rest of Your Life”, along with Joni Mitchel's “Both Sides Now” and Lou Reid’s masterpiece “Walk on the Wild Side”. Regarding the album, Edward Blanco from All About Jazz praised, “Both Sides is the kind of music that everyone will be drawn to—warm, soft, unforgettable and voiced by a superior singer.”

Marc Jordan and his wife Amy Sky plan to release a duet album in the second half of 2020. “We are so excited about having a base in Nashville because of the incredible and diverse music community here,” says Marc. “I've done 2 solo albums in Nashville and Amy and I have recorded some of the duet project here. I can't think of any other place where the creative soul and spirit of music is so available, joyous, and immediate.”
